Champoy, MFA Candidate / 2019 - 2020 Board Member

Champoy (born Janeil Sumampong Lim, 1980) is an artist and educator currently taking up his MFA in Art Practice. Originally from the highlands of Bukidnon and educated in Cebu City , champoy immigrated to US/Turtle Island in 2002 and has since been based in LA/Tongvaland. Champoy’s work is heavily influenced by comix, organic patterns and a humorous sense that is lifted from personal cosmology and ancestral visions.

Juliette Mekikian, Communications Director/ 2019 - 2020 Board Member

Juliet is a digital designer and marketer from California. She has worked around Human Centered Design and Design Thinking practices throughout her digital career and brings this love of flawless design into her art practice exploring the ways in which human connect to technology and to each other.

She enjoys playing with the intersection of art and business and will continue this research into the coming year working under UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business first Artist in residence Clark Kellogg.

Quinn Edlin, 2020 Board Member

Quinn Edlin, 2020 Board Member

Quinn Edlin is a poet from Berkeley, California. She is a Queer, mixed Black woman who roots her work in the exploration of existing at the intersection of her identities.She was a finalist of the 2019 Teen Poetry Slam. She performed at the Sydney Goldstein theatre for the 21st annual “Bringing the Noise for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,”, and at the Brava theatre for the 2019 Queeriosity showcase. She has also performed at other venues including the Masonic.

Quinn released her first chapbook, Thirsty Grace, in November of 2019.

Benjamin Fedosky, 2020 Board Member

Benjamin Fedosky is an artist living and working in Oakland, CA. He studied briefly at the University of Milwaukee, WI from 1997 - 99 and has since developed a self-directed approach to his art and studio practice which explores the landscape of the figurative representation in sculpture, drawing and printmaking. Fedosky has exhibited in solo and group shows in the U.S, Canada, and the UK and his works are held in select private collections.

Janaki Vivrekar, 2020 Board Member

Janaki Vivrekar is a Cal undergraduate studying computer science, applied math, new media, and design. Janaki cares deeply about teaching, growth mindsets, and accessibility in education. She also enjoys making mandalas, using culinary tools to create artworks, and building communicative experiences via digital and tactile interfaces.


Janaki is also curious and critical about equity, exclusion, and ethical design in co-evolving digital, social, and physical spaces. As an engineer, creative technologist, and artist, Janaki is eager to build provocative artifacts and tools of social justice that disrupt dominant narratives to reveal minoritized individuals and communities.

Hailey Windsor, 2020 Board Member

Hailey is a fourth-year undergraduate studying Human-Centered Design through Berkeley's College of Environmental Design and the Jacobs Institute. Her practice focuses on public and community health applications for industrial design with recurring themes of reproductive, sexual, and elder health. Her design research has taken her across the U.S. and to Mexico and Ghana. Hailey is also a part of design collective DEZINO, where her work is focused on sculptural design and community building. When Hailey isn't interviewing strangers or developing a prototype in the CITRIS Invention Lab, you can find her playing volleyball or breaking in her new dutch oven

Cara Green, 2020 Board Member

Cara is an undergraduate at Cal studying Art History and Dance & Performance Studies. With a  background in dance and choreography, Cara is deeply interested in how the body communicates within different forms of art and performance. Cara believes that costumes, fashions, and fabrics are critical elements to be examined on the performing body. She has pursued her interest in fashion by working at a local women’s boutique that specializes in vintage clothing, and by assisting a personal stylist in the Bay Area. Cara hopes to further explore the intersection of performance, art, and fashion as she expands her studies and experiences at Berkeley.

Jade Cohen is a multimedia artist born and raised in South Africa and is currently studying art practice at UC Berkeley.

Maria Pettis, 2020 Board Member

Maria Pettis, 2020 Board Member

Maria Pettis is a PhD student in the Department of Geography. She is a multidisciplinary researcher, experimenter, and graduate student advocate. Her academic and grassroots work interrogates worlds, worldmaking, and the future from Black Radical and Decolonial Indigenous traditions. Her work blurs theory and practice as she seeks to experiment with new media (AR/ VR), spatial design, and social practice art to illuminate how people imagine, negotiate, and become place. In her spare time, Maria is an amateur mycologist, gardener, and secret top-chef. She is often found wandering the streets of Oakland with her tuxedoed dog, Xolo.
